About the design
In block printing, each colour is stamped by hand with its own carved wooden block, and the layers never line up perfectly. Block Print enlarges that charm to rug scale: rows of stylised flowers outlined in rust and filled with powder blue on a cream ground, with the slight irregularity of hand printing. Relaxed and graphic at once, it suits family living rooms, bedrooms and casual dining spaces.
Inspired by
Sanganer, near Jaipur, has printed cloth by hand with carved wooden blocks for centuries.
